Terms of Service
This section defines who is eligible to use EchoLearn (the "Service"), for what purpose, and when the Service reserves the right to terminate use.
Use of the Service is conditional on full agreement to these terms. Browsing, recording, or producing outputs (PDF / MP4 with subtitles) through the tools constitutes binding acceptance.
Eligibility
The Service is open to users age 13 and over. Minors under 18 may only use it with parental or guardian consent. Businesses may use it via an authorised representative, who is responsible for ensuring that the use complies with the organisation's policy.
Permitted use
Personal, educational, research and commercial use of outputs is permitted (for content the user owns or has permission to process). Prohibited: automated scraping of the Service, reverse engineering, attempts to extract trade secrets from the models, abuse (spam, harassment, distribution of unlawful content), bypassing usage limits, or operating the Service on behalf of a third party without their consent.
Termination
The Service reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without notice, to limit, suspend or terminate the access of any user who breaches these terms, harms the Service or other users, or exposes the Service to legal liability.
Legal Policy
Intellectual property, governing law and jurisdiction. The clauses here protect the Service's assets and establish where and under which law disputes will be heard.
Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights in the Service — including the source code, user interface, designs, logo, the name "EchoLearn", translations, documentation, and any system prompt or script used with AI models — are owned exclusively by the operator of the Service. Copying, reproducing, distributing, deriving works from, or selling any part of the Service is prohibited. Outputs the user generates through the tools (PDF, MP4 with subtitles) — ownership of the original content remains with the user; the Service claims no rights in those outputs.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed exclusively by the laws of the State of Israel, without giving effect to conflict-of-laws principles. Exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute related to the Service is vested in the competent courts of the Tel Aviv-Yafo district, Israel. The parties waive any claim of forum non conveniens.
Changes to terms
The Service may update these terms from time to time. Material updates will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Absolute Limitation of Liability
This section removes from the Service, its owners, developers and anyone associated with it any liability for damage arising from use of or inability to use the Service.
"As-Is" — As-Is, As-Available
The Service is provided "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE", without any representation, undertaking or warranty, express or implied. No warranty is given as to continuous availability, freedom from defects, accuracy of transcription or translation, data safety, or fitness for any particular purpose.
Zero liability
In any event and to the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service, its owners, employees, developers, suppliers and anyone on its behalf bear no liability whatsoever for any damage, direct or indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential, including but not limited to: loss of profits, loss of data, harm to reputation, system downtime, decisions made in reliance on Service outputs (including medical, legal, financial or academic decisions), service interruptions, security breaches, or any other damage related to the use of or inability to use the Service.
Third-party providers
The Service relies on external AI providers — ElevenLabs (Scribe) and Anthropic (Claude). The Service is not responsible for their operation, availability, pricing or terms. Use is also subject to those providers' privacy and terms-of-use policies.
Liability cap
Should any liability nevertheless be established, the Service's aggregate liability under any cause of action shall be limited to the amount the user paid to the Service in the 12 months preceding the event, and in any case no more than USD 30. If the user has paid nothing, the amount is zero.
Privacy & Cookies Policy
What we collect, where it lives, and what you can do with your data. Drafted to align with the GDPR, the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law 5741-1981, and the Protection of Privacy (Information Security) Regulations 5777-2017.
What we collect
(a) User input: audio / video uploaded to the tools — processed at request time and deleted immediately afterwards. (b) UI preferences: language, theme — stored in browser localStorage only, never leaves the device. (c) Basic operational telemetry: anonymous API request logs for operations and security (IP, user agent, request size, HTTP codes). No personal identifiers.
Third parties
Audio is forwarded to ElevenLabs Scribe and Anthropic Claude for transcription and translation. Both providers state that API user data is not used for training their models (ElevenLabs and Anthropic privacy policies). The Service does not share data with advertisers, ad networks, or data brokers.
Cookies
The Service uses only essential cookies: UI language, theme, and session identifiers for CSRF protection. There is no use of analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. On first visit a banner consents to essential cookies only; no further action is required.
Your rights
You are entitled, at any time, to: (1) access the personal data processed about you; (2) request deletion ("right to be forgotten"); (3) receive your data in a portable format (data portability); (4) object to processing; (5) lodge a complaint with the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority at the Ministry of Justice, or with a GDPR supervisory authority in the EU. Contact: privacy@echolearn.example, response within 30 days.
Data retention
Audio and outputs are deleted immediately upon completion of processing. Operational logs are retained for up to 90 days and then automatically deleted. UI preferences are retained in the browser until the user clears them (cookies / localStorage).
Accessibility Statement
The Service strives to be accessible to people with disabilities. This statement details the current accessibility level, the adjustments we have made, and contact details for the accessibility officer.
Conformance level
The Service is designed to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the Israeli Equal Rights for People with Disabilities Law 5758-1998, and the Equal Rights for People with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations 5773-2013.
Adjustments implemented
(1) Semantic HTML5 (main / nav / section / article); (2) Full keyboard navigation across all interactive components; (3) Visible focus rings on every interactive element; (4) Alt text on non-decorative icons; (5) Colour contrast meeting WCAG AA; (6) Full RTL support for Hebrew and Arabic; (7) prefers-reduced-motion honoured — animations stop for users who request it; (8) safe-area-inset on phones with notches.
Known limitations
(1) There are currently no live captions inside the recording tool itself (the transcript appears after the recording ends); (2) Screen recording via getDisplayMedia requires an active user click and isn't supported by certain screen readers; (3) The generated PDF includes horizontal bar charts that are not fully accessible to screen readers — alt text has been added as a section footer. We are working on improvements.
Accessibility officer
